Human Bone Laws & Information
In short, it is perfectly legal to posses and sell human bones in the United States. There are a few exceptions and addendums to this including a few states where import and export has been banned, and of course, protected archaeological resources covered by the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. For more information and specifics please visit our Bone FAQ page.
Protected Species
In accordance with local law, we do not sell any material from species listed on the U.S. Federal or California State Endangered Species Lists, any Migratory Birds, nor Modern Marine Mammal species. For museum-quality reproduction skulls of protected species, please see our Cast section.
Bone Preparation
For instructions on cleaning your own animal bones, please see our Bone FAQ. When doing so, please be aware that many local animal species are protected. Laws may apply even to found remains (yes, this means road kill too!).
