The Bone Room is a dynamic place and we like to keep our loyal customers informed. We realize that we feature a lot of information and merchandise on our web site, and that a lot of our long time customers, as well as new ones, might not notice our newest items on their own. That is why we have added this page to showcase featured stock, sale announcements, special events details, and glimpses of our newest products.
Right now this section is especially exciting. Our webmaster is just finishing a re-vamp of the entire web site featuring: A whole new look for the site, a lot of new items in sections that have not been updated in eons, as well as some new types stock we've never even had on the site before. This is of course in addition to the natural history salon we've added right next door to The Bone Room called "The Bone Room Presents".

Bones
Bones are what we are known for, hence the name of the store. That means that the bone section is not only the most popular, but that it needs constant updating of stock and prices. This is especially true with the scarcity of human bones these days. Check out the whole section for overall price and stock updates and changes for the year, as well as some of the selected stock below for new and rare additions to the catalogue.
Crocodile Skulls These spectacular Nile crocodile skulls are legal captive-bred specimens from Madagascar that range from petite specimens to giant adults akin to the ones you used to watch on the discovery channel. $120 - $675
Carved & Inlaid Tibetan Yamas Human skulls that have been inlaid or carved in the tradition of tibetan buddhist monks. $2000 for A1 quality

Beauchene/Exploded Human Skulls
Beauchene human skulls are specially prepared skulls where they take a completely disarticulated human skull and arrange each piece in its basic anatomical position on adjustable pegs that can be moved in or out as a display might require.
We do not have a picture catalogue of our beauchene skulls yet.
But these are real human bone, and we have a few different specimens, ranging in preparation style, quality, and price to choose from at this time. around $8000 for A1 quality
Insects
We offer a wide variety of insects mounts and supplies. Many are great suppliers we've been using for years, but we do get in new specimens in these mounts regularly. So stay updated and get first pick!
We have just received a new shipment of our fabulously popular and inexpensive shadow box framed insects. We've re-stocked the old favorites and added some new styles and species. So please...
Animal Remnants
There are always bi products from the various animal industries and pest control, and we say "waste not, want not"! We are constantly contacting people and companies we think might have some of the "extras" that aren't used, but we know our public will love. So take a look here to get a sneak peek at all the newest bits and bobs we've managed to acquire recently.
Small Horns
We finally have a few species of smaller african antelope horns including duikers and steenbok. Perfect for costumes & art, and inexpensive to boot. Duiker - $10.00/ea, Steenbok - $6.00/ea
Shells
We get new shells about twice a year, and this time we've update the web site to include some of our more awesome finds. Check out the new echinoid shells (pictured), venus flower baskets, a few new species of abalone, as well as some zebra shark jaws. Prices vary by item
Fossils Fossils Fossils!
We go to 2 major fossil shows a year and acquire new stock all the time so it is no surprise that this section is constantly changing. Every page from specialty fossils to ammonites gets updated regularly, and we'll keep you updated with the newest and best selections here, so please peruse to see what's new.
Crinoids
A great new selection of both small and large crinoids featuring different species and various localities, and more lower end specimens not on the site that you can call to inquire about. Prices vary between $50 - $900
Jewelry
We've finally managed to add a few of our most popular "in store" jewelry pieces to the site, and have also updated all of the pages to reflect our current stock and prices.
This is the unveiling of our new collection of nature inspired, sterling silver jewelry. If you like sophisticated jewelry, and tentacles, antlers, or teeth, we're sure you'll find your match with these intricate hand made silver beauties.

As many of you & already know, The Bone Room is more than just a mere retail store. In addition to our extensive stock of natural history items, we go out of our way to provide information and enrichment to our local and greater world wide community. Here you will find information about our newest You Tube videos, publications & interviews, as well as information on our newest endeavor, The Bone Room Presents; a natural history salon.
Introducing... The Bone Room Presents!
In August 2009, The Bone Room budded off a whole new operation right next door. We took over the neighboring space in our building (The Herschel Building) at 1573 Solano, and are now offering Natural History oriented art openings, book signings, academic lectures, and courses every Thursday evening.
As you may already know, The Bone Room opened an art gallery and lecture hall right next door in August of 2009. It's been over a year now and we've had some amazing events and great public feedback, but we realize that a lot of our patrons, especially those that aren't local, don't really know what our new operation is all about. So, we've put together a short video for You Tube that offers some explanation and hopefully some incentive for anyone visiting our area to stop by.

The debut art show of The Bone Room Presents has come and gone, but you're still in luck! We love Sharon Mitchell's work so much, that we now offer miniature high quality framed reproductions (about 8" x 10") for $25/each.

Just because you missed one of the book signings at The Bone Room Presents, doesn't mean you can't have a signed book from your favorite science writer. The Perfect Pet
This is our addition to the ages, a short instructional video featuring Erin, our very own Assistant Manager At Large. Erin takes us on an overview of the process of turning your 'late' (high maintenance) companion into articulated skeleton or "The Perfect Pet".
