Individual Human Innominate – Male or Female

This is one half of the human pelvis—also known as the innominate or os coxae—consisting of the fused ilium, ischium, and pubis. Each specimen is identified as male or female based on pelvic morphology.

  • Male innominates typically feature a narrower greater sciatic notch, more prominent ischial projection, and a more robust overall structure.
  • Female innominates generally show a wider greater sciatic notch, broader pelvic inlet, and lighter bone build, features adapted for childbirth. Some smaller or more gracile female specimens may be juvenile.

Ideal for anatomical study, forensic reference, or comparative teaching.

See photos for examples. You will receive one innominate bone identified as male or female. Stock photo is representative. Side (left or right) may vary unless specified.
