Killer Whale Tooth

KO-012

The killer whale, which lives in groups called 'pods', is found in every ocean. The largest member of the dolphin family, the male may weigh over 8 tons. Its dorsal fin, measuring up to 6 feet in the male, is the tallest of all whale fins. The killer whale has from 10 to 14 interlocking, conical teeth in each side of the jaw, which allow it to feed on a diet that ranges from small fishes to marine mammals. Our tooth at 4 inches is longer than average.

Orcinus orca 4" Long
