The beautifully curved upper tusks are 19 inches long. The warthog's sharp lower canines are continually honed by contact with the upper canines. Mature males are 3 to 4 feet long, stand 2.5 foot high at the shoulder, and may weigh 250 pounds. Capable of fierce fighting, they can also run, tail held erect, at over 30 mph.
