The dental evidence (the eruption patterns found in both the maxillary and mandibular arcade) of this skull suggests an age of 14 to 22 months, while the nondental evidence points to an age between 1 to 2 years. The anterior fontanelle is open, as are the spheno-occipital synchondrosis and all the calvarial sutures. The posterior, sphenoidal (anterolateral) and mastoidal (posterolateral) fontanelles are closed. It is not currently possible to reliably differentiate male and female infant and young child skeletal remains.BC-216
